A delightful technique of miniature raised embroidery originating in the 17th century, but which can be used for contemporary themes. The one day class will introduce you to the basic stumpwork techniques using wire and needlelace.

Tambour Work – E
This technique uses a hooked needle to create a continuous chain stitch on fabric tightly stretched over a frame. Beads and sequins can be incorporated into the stitch.
Three Dimensional Box-making – E
Learn how to measure and construct a small box made of conservation card covered in fabric. This course will teach you the principles of box construction to enable you to make charming boxes which can be embellished with embroidery.
No embroidery will be taught on this course – box construction only.
Traditional Smocking – E
A much loved technique for many centuries, smocking places a variety of stitches over folded or pleated fabric. A very popular technique for childrens' wear.
