Some two and three day classes are suitable for beginners and the class description will say if previous experience is necessary.

New Ideas - Introduction to Hardanger - NE
A style of Norwegian open work counted thread embroidery using rectangular groups of geometric patterns known as Kloster Blocks. An attractive technique frequently used for table linen. Traditionally worked in white thread on a white background, this class will introduce an element of colour with different coloured background fabrics and space dyed threads to create an alternative look.

Introduction to Knot Gardens - E
A class designed mainly for students who have not previously started a Knot Garden.
Using the gardens of Hampton Court Palace for inspiration learn how to create a three dimensional garden design on canvas with conventional canvas stitches, stumpwork ribbonwork and beadwork techniques. Ideal for use with a doll's house.
Introduction to Mountmellick – NE
A highly textured very attractive form of Irish embroidery using many different stitches with matt cotton threads on linen. ~An ideal introduction to whitework.

Introduction to Silk Shading – NE
This beautiful technique uses cotton or silk threads and is sometimes known as 'painting with a needle'. The Introduction Day will give a 'taster' for this technique and is designed with the inexperienced stitcher in mind. You will be given a simple design and will learn how to work directional long and short stitch.
