Katie started stitching at a young age under the guidance of her mother and grandmothers. She continued to develop this interest at school and went on to complete a degree in costume at the London College of Fashion. Having worked in costume Katie came to the Royal School of Needlework in 2004 and completed her Apprenticeship with Distinction. Following this she worked in the RSN Studio and became a tutor. She now teaches on the RSN Certificate course and runs her own freelance business working on commissions and teaching privately across the country. Her work has been seen in various exhibitions and has been profiled in Stitches magazine. She has also developed a range of embroidery kits and workshops with the aim of making embroidery fun and relevant in a modern world.
