Nicola Jarvis is currently studying part-time for a Masters Degree in Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Art. She gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007 and now teaches art and embroidery at the RSN. After completing the Apprenticeship in 1994, Nicola worked in the RSN Studio as a technician, designer and tutor for a further year. She then pursued a freelance career, working mainly as a sample emboriderer for the UK fashion industry and during this time gained her Certificate of Education from Greenwich University.
In 2002 Nicola started her collaboration with Tracy A Franklin contributing designs and embroidery for her book 'New Ideas in Goldwork', followed in 2005 with 'Contemporary Whitework' which she co-authored with Tracy.
'Embroidered Knot Gardens', Anova Books best seller written by Owen Davies and Gill Holdsworth (2006), also features Nicola's illustrations of both technical diagrams and artistic images.
