A beautiful one off piece of work, made for an exhibition by the RSN. By Jenny Adin and Margaret Dier.
Three raised panels of tapestry silk shading, depicting architectural details of Tuscan buildings, are set against a hand painted background of gold clouds. The three-dimensional sun, worked in gold, radiates into a sundial. The padded goldwork comprises copper, gold and tarnished metal threads, which have been couched down. Cut work is in bright and rough check and pearl pearl. The roman numerals and sunrays are worked in gold twist. Click on image for detail
The work is in a basic frame and it is recommended that it be re framed and put under glass.
